Thai StemLife Celebrates 20th Anniversary: Advancing Stem Cell Development to “Enhance Quality of Life” and Expanding Customer Base in ASEAN

On September 19th, Thai StemLife Co., Ltd. hosted its 20th-anniversary celebration at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok. Dr. Thepjongjit Awjanapong, CEO of Thai StemLife Co., Ltd., addressed attendees, emphasizing the company’s ongoing commitment to “innovating stem cell banking solutions with the vision of becoming the number one leader in stem cell research and development.” The ultimate goal is to elevate the quality of life for Thai people while positioning Thailand as a global leader in comprehensive healthcare. The company is guided by the belief that “Health is humanity’s most precious treasure” and remains dedicated to providing exceptional care at every level.

Over the past two decades, Thai StemLife has established itself as the first and largest private stem cell bank in Thailand, boasting a team of skilled medical professionals and state-of-the-art technology that meets international standards. The company continually pursues advancements in stem cell research and development, setting new industry benchmarks under the concept of “Beyond Stem Cell Banking.”

Dr. Thepjongjit Awjanapong also announced the construction of a new facility for Thai StemLife. This facility will serve as a cutting-edge hub for stem cell preservation and research, featuring laboratories designed to meet global GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. This ensures the highest quality and safety in stem cell production, enabling the company to deliver top-tier services to its clients while solidifying its position as an international leader.

Dr. Konstantinos Papadopoulos, an advisor with expertise in endocrinology and metabolism, delivered an in-depth lecture on the advancements and ongoing research in stem cell development, under the topic “Unleashing the Power of Regeneration.”

The event also included a panel discussion titled “Stem Cells Transforming Lives,” featuring the family of Khun Mew Nittha and Khun Saint Tharapuch Kuhapremkit. They shared positive experiences of using stem cells for physical rejuvenation, viewing stem cell preservation as a worthwhile investment in their child’s future and their family’s well-being. Another highlight was the heartfelt story shared by Khun Waratchaya Attanukul, the mother of “Nong Pakin” (now 16 years old), who was diagnosed with thalassemia at just one year old. The only cure at the time was a bone marrow transplant using stem cells from his younger sibling. Today, Nong Pakin has fully recovered from thalassemia, a testament to the transformative power of stem cell therapy.

Thai StemLife became the first private company in Thailand to offer stem cell preservation services in June 2005. Since then, it has aimed to lead the field of stem cell banking technology in Thailand, providing efficient and internationally certified services for preserving both placental and adult stem cells. With over 20,000 clients from Thailand and Southeast Asia, the company has earned widespread trust and recognition.

In the past decade, Thai StemLife has expanded its business to other countries in the region, including Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar, solidifying its position as a leader in stem cell banking in both Thailand and Southeast Asia. Earlier in 2024, the company signed a partnership with a Vietnamese entity to serve as a primary provider of comprehensive stem cell services in Vietnam, further expanding its customer base.

Looking ahead, Thai StemLife plans to elevate its facilities to world-class GMP standards, ensuring the highest quality and safety in stem cell production for therapeutic use. This initiative is part of the company’s strategy to remain at the forefront of stem cell preservation and modern medical services. Collaborations with government and private entities in cell therapy are set to introduce new treatment options, promoting efficient cell regeneration and advancing Thai medical science to a global level.
